When you become a member of CSHA, you may affiliate with either the district where you live or the district where you work (if they are different).
CSHA has ten regional districts uniting our statewide network of over 3,000 members.

District 1 includes six coastal counties – San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino, Humboldt, and Del Norte. San Francisco State University is the training program within our District. Our members work in hospitals, agencies, school districts and county offices of education, home health agencies, rehab programs, and work in skilled nursing facilities, early intervention programs, state agencies and private practices.
District 2 includes 27 counties – from the southern border of Sacramento County and to the northern border of California and from Napa County on the west to the Nevada border. Sacramento State University and Chico State University are the training programs within our District. Additionally, we have a SLPA program located at Sac State and at American River College in Sacramento. Our members work in hospitals, agencies, school districts and county offices of education, home health agencies, rehab programs, and work in skilled nursing facilities, early intervention programs, state agencies and private practices.
District 3 includes Alameda County, Contra Costa County, San Joaquin County and Stanislaus County. Our district is home to two university SLP programs, California State East Bay and University of the Pacific. We also have one SLPA program at San Joaquin Delta College.
District 4 includes San Mateo, Santa Cruz and Santa Clara counties. San Jose State University is the training program within our District. Our district members work in hospitals, agencies, school districts and county offices of education, home health agencies, rehab programs, and work in skilled nursing facilities, early intervention programs, state agencies and private practices.
District 5 encompasses the middle Central Valley, from Merced to Bakersfield, on over to the central California coast. The one training program in our district is at California State University, Fresno, which offers undergraduate programs in speech-language pathology , audiology, interpreting, and deaf studies and graduate programs in speech-language pathology and deaf education.
District 6 is one of 10 geographically divided areas of the California Speech – Language and Hearing Association. We include Ventura County, Santa Barbara County and the portions of Los Angeles County designated by zip codes beginning with 90. There are 5 training programs within our District: California State University Dominguez Hills, California State University Long Beach, California State University Los Angeles, Biola University, and Cerritos College. Our members work in hospitals, agencies, school districts, county offices of education, universities, home health agencies, rehabilitation programs, skilled nursing facilities, early intervention programs, state agencies, and private practice.
District 7 includes the portions of Los Angeles County designated by the zip codes beginning with 91 and 93. Many of our student members come from California State University, Northridge where there is an undergraduate and graduate level program as well as an online graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology. Other student members come from Pasadena City College were there is a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program. Our members work in hospitals, agencies, school districts, county offices of education, home health agencies, rehab programs, skilled nursing facilities, early intervention programs, state agencies and private practices.
District 8 includes the Orange County area of Southern California, Chapman University and the California State University Fullerton are the training programs within our District along with Orange Coast College and Santa Ana College which both offer SLPA programs. Our members work in hospitals, agencies, school districts and county offices of education, home health agencies, rehab programs, and work in skilled nursing facilities, early intervention programs, state agencies and private practices.
District 9 encompasses San Diego County and Imperial County. Our district member work in hospitals, agencies, school districts and county offices of education, home health agencies, rehab programs, and work in skilled nursing facilities, early intervention programs, state agencies and private practices. Within the district there are two universities with Speech and Language programs, including San Diego State University and California State University, San Marcos.
District 10 includes San Bernardino, Riverside and Inyo counties. We stretch all the way from Blythe to Chino. We have three private Communicative Disorders/Sciences programs in our district. We have the University of Redlands, Loma Linda University, and California Baptist University.
